Day 10- 8th September 2022- Cruising the North Sea,

After a couple of quite different days in the Arctic Circle, we depart that pert of the world and spend overnight and this day at Sea. The saling is to position us tomorrow at the Faroe Islands and Torshaven ( Denmark owned).

For the first day we experience some rocking and rolling with the ship being tossed around a bit by the swell and Roll of the North Sea.

We have a relaxing morning sitting upstairs overlooking the front of the ship, then morning coffee with friends. A point of discussion is the likely impact of the death of Queen Elizabeth 11. We already know that many things will be cancelled in Edinburgh whilst we are in that city including the Cruise terminal being taken over for tansport for dignatories. consequently, Sirena will then berth at a dock on the Other side of the sound and will then dependent upon transport / shuttles into Edinburgh.

Before lunch we are advised that our excursion out of Edinburgh and to various Loch’s has been cancelled because they cannot identify an appropriate pick up and drop off point.

We decide to lunch in the Dinig room and sit with 3 other couples who we haven’t previously met. We enjoy a superb luncheon.

Then a film in the afternoon, followed by some downtime to read.

Ken has to this time has read 6 novels and is on his seventh. But he is a long way behind on hs diary because the Internet is proving unsatisfactory because we are so far North.

Pre Dinner drinks in the Bar with another couple, then we go to the Dining room and enjoy a special measl prepared by the Cherfs using fish and products from yesterday.

The ship is a busy place on Sea days and we thoroughly enjoy the range of activities including listening to the quintet.
