Depart Accor Resort Broadbeach and Fly Gold Coast to Melbourne and Picked up by Gavin.

We departed the Accor Vacation Club Resort at Broadbeach (Freshwater Point Resort) following a most enjoyable week’s stay. At 9.10AM, we were on the road to drive to Coolangatta Gold Coast Airport to then drop off the Hertz Rental vehicle. First, we had to drive along the Gold Coast highway with all of the works being undertaken for the Light Rail extension to Burleigh Heads and fill the vehicle with petrol.

The drive took about 50 minutes, we arrived at Coolangatta Gold Coast Airport at 10.05AM and after dropping the car off at 10.10AM we were in the terminal and checked in and just had to drop off the Case and the Golf Clubs at the large items area. Then through security using the latest scanning gear and ready for our departure on our Flight to Melbourne on our QF flight, which was on time.

The call for the flight occurred at 11.30AM, after we had a drink, and we boarded sitting in 18A and 18B seats for the 2 hour flight to Melbourne.

The flight included a light meal of a pie and drinks. Ken sat next to an older lady who advised that she had travelled to a brother’s funeral but had a fall but, fortunately didn’t break any bones. She advised that she was 90 years of age.

We departed the flight some 10-15 minutes ahead of schedule, used the rest rooms, texted Gavin , and then waited for our luggage to appear on the carousel . With one wheel broken off the case it made sense to have a luggage trolley.

Gavin arrived in 10 minutes, a little late and apologised for being late as he had a transfer to Melbourne CBD from am earlier international flight and as we were earlier than expected. However, it made it tight.

Across to the Car park in a “new Part of the Terminal” and Car parking building. Into the car and a comfortable drive home in 50 minutes, then unpacked and the holiday is well and truly over.

Summary a good holiday in every way. The weather was just great, the rental vehicle just excellent, the accommodations all good.

A most enjoyable holiday on the Gold Coast.

We enjoyed the warmth, the sunshine and the accommodation both at Cabarita Beach and then later at Freshwater Point Resort, Accor Vacation Club timeshare.

We both needed this holiday and it has done us good.
